Belmont Lake State Park, Picnic Grounds (Visions of the Past)

Visions of the PastThe picnic grounds at Belmont Lake State Park, circa 1940. This hand colored linen postcard was published by the Tomlin Art Company, in Babylon, NY. Postmarked to a friend in Stamford, Connecticut, the sender of the postcard wrote “Hello. Do you like to exchange view cards with me?” The crowds of eager picnickers are not a good example of the social distancing that we need to defeat the COVID-19 epidemic of 2020. But, it is a good example of what we can look forward to in the future.
Postcard from the historic collections of the Town of Babylon History Museum, Town of Babylon, NY.
