Korean War Casualties, From the Town of Babylon

Memorial to the Town of Babylon Fallen Heroes of the Korean War,
at the Deer Park Administration Building, Deer Park Avenue.

More than 36,500 Americans died in the Korean War [1]. That total includes seven soldiers from the Town of Babylon. 

These soldiers were our local sons, brothers and friends. Despite the passing years, their hometown remembers their sacrifice.

On Memorial Day 2026, Deer Park and the Town of Babylon were honored with the dedication of a monument to the seven Babylon Town residents who did in service in the Korean War. 

The monument, a brass plaque mounted on a boulder, was the Eagle Scout project completed by Matthew Morace, Troop 157, pictured above. With the addition of this new monument, there are three veterans' memorials in front of the Deer Park Administration Building, at 1881 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729.

The monuments, from left to right: 

• Deer Park Vietnam War Honor Roll - commemorates seven local servicemen who died in the conflict
• Deer Park World War II Honor Roll - lists the names of 127 local residents who served in the war – 126 men and 1 woman, including 6 who died in service 
• Town of Babylon Fallen Heroes of the Korean War - commemorates seven servicemen from the Town of Babylon who died in the conflict
