Visions
of the Past – “Where The Windmill Is,” was the tagline used by Bulk’s
Nurseries, formerly of West Babylon, circa 1960s. The windmill and nursery
stood at the southeast corner of Montauk Highway and Bergen Road (the wooded
area opposite Stop & Shop and Burger King). The windmill was a local landmark
and inspired the miniature windmill that stand at the intersection of Little
East Neck Road and Route 109, by West Babylon High School.
